He is a recipient of the Hunan Provincial Distinguished Young Scholars Fund and has been selected as a Young Backbone Teacher of Hunan Province as well as a Tier-3 Talent in Central South University’s “531” Talent Program.

He has presided over three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), eight provincial or ministerial-level research projects (including one Hunan Distinguished Young Scholars Fund project), one Central South University Innovation-Driven Project (third batch), and more than ten industry-funded horizontal research projects.
As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 180 research papers in journals such as Journal of Hazardous Materials, Coordination Chemistry Reviews, Chinese Chemical Letters, Chinese Journal of Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, Process Safety and Environmental Protection, Analytica Chimica Acta, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Talanta, Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering: C, Microchimica Acta, Applied Surface Science, Science of the Total Environment, among others. His publications have been cited more than 8,200 times, with an H-index of 50 and an i10-index of 163. He has co-authored four English monographs and one Chinese textbook, and holds 16 authorized national invention patents.
